Maintaining health and safety in the working environment
In any working environment, the welfare of employees, customers and the public is paramount. Through
its dedicated Health and Safety team, COMPCO Fire Systems has the expertise and capacity necessary
to ensure your working environment is safe and secure.
To free you from the legislative burden of staying compliant, we continually develop our policies
and procedures in line with changes in regulations. We can also provide you with specialist external
assistance if needed.
Training our people in safety
All our engineers and operatives register with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. Combined
with a comprehensive safety induction and an ongoing programme of on site and in-house training, you
can feel sure every employee upholds our health and safety policies. What is more, each policy covers
every possible activity, from manual handling to using the correct personal protection clothing and
equipment.
To safeguard against specific industry risks, we provide expert training for ‘working at
height’ access equipment, safety harnesses, and specialist sprinkler equipment.
Assessing risk
Evaluating risks at the design stage, we undertake installation risk assessments on all aspects of our
methods before starting work. Furthermore, with close monitoring, we can revise and update these
assessments during the installation process.
Acknowledging excellence
Recognising our commitment to Health and Safety, Bovis Lend Lease recently awarded COMPCO its
Environment, Health and Safety Contractor Accreditation Certificate. We also gained a Bronze and two
Silver RoSPA safety awards for 2006, 2007 and 2008, and Bronze awards for Managing Operational Road
Risk in 2007 and 2008.
