After 3 years of design, installation and commissioning, the first Phase of our contract on the Astra Zeneca project has been delivered with the successful completion of the Energy Centre mechanical fire systems which include 5 levels of multi service fire protection including, Sprinklers, Foam, Gas and a Dry Riser.
Compco’s Regional Manager (London & the South East), Nick Baker added that “it is a major milestone for us and all involved to handover this building for beneficial use, after months of design, installation, system testing, client validations and despite all the many hurdles and challenges our end product is one of quality and a clear endorsement of all the hard work and effort that has gone into another successful installation which we should all be very proud of”.
Compco have secured further instruction to provide service and maintenance to the Energy Centre Systems during the remaining beneficial use period whilst the project team remain focused on continuing to navigate the challenge of delivering the rest of the system located in the linked Research and Development building.
The Energy Centre along with the Research and Development building are located at the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (near to Addenbrookes Hospital and our recently delivered Papworth Hospital) will be home to the new global headquarters for Astra Zeneca which is due to complete in 2020.
