The BBC’s move from the dilapidated Llandaff offices to up-and-coming central Cardiff will mean more revenue and tourism into the city as visitors wishing to see the new headquarters and thus boosting the presence of the BBC throughout Wales.
The new building will be home to 155,582 sq ft. of office and broadcasting space. There will be 1,900 full time jobs made, including the builders on the job and new businesses made thanks to the BBC’s move.
Compco installed the sprinklers and dry risers over two stages, between the end of 2016 and 2017 and then again for the fit out phase between mid-2017 and was completed in January 2019, with the offices opening to staff in September 2019.
