In the centre of historical Oxford lies a brand new shopping centre that offers shoppers a new shopping experience, with over 125 units of retail, eateries and services for a wide range of consumers. Out of the 125 units, Compco Fire has installed sprinkler systems to over half of them including Vans, Timberland, Accessorize, Ted Baker, Hugo Boss, Sketchers, Pizza Pilgrims, Nandos and Junk Yard Golf. It was opened to the public in October 2017.
There includes a rooftop dining experience, a 5-screen cinema and a 1,000 space car park. All of these facilities have been protected from fire and offer complete coverage throughout. As well as the retail side of Westgate, there is also 59 one and two bedroom apartments that accompany the scheme.
All of this sprinkler protection requires pumps and tanks and there is a dedicated space which holds all of the equipment. It is regularly tested and monitored on a daily basis to ensure the public and the shopping centre’s employees are protected in the event of a fire.
