Compco Fire Systems the UK’s largest independently owned fire engineering company, due to measured and continued growth are seeking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to join our dedicated High Pressure Water Mist department.
Your place of work would be at our Worcester office.
Reporting to the department head, you will be working using AutoCAD with Hydraulic Calculations, preferably having an understanding of Autosprink, Revit, and Canute FHC to design Compco-Fogtec® High Pressure Water Mist systems throughout the UK.

Previous experience in High Pressure Water Mist would be beneficial but not essential as Compco will offer training of system design, as well as specific processes for Compco-Fogtec® systems. However transferable experience in a Fire related discipline such as (Sprinklers, Special Risk, Low Pressure Mist or Gas Suppression) would be advantageous.
To produce detailed plans and sections of High pressure Watermist systems including water supplies (Pump & Tanks).
To produce P&ID’s, schematics & schedules (BOM’s).
To produce basic builderswork layouts.
To produce hydraulic calculations & isometric node diagrams.
To produce 3D models and carry out clash detection.
Complete appropriate Quality assurance paper work in line with company process.
Track and report design quantities against the estimate.
To attend Design meetings to co-ordinate services (Internal & External).
Attending Handover meetings.
Creation and management of design programme and tracker documents.
Regular meetings to track and manage performance by reviewing project trackers, RFI/EWN logs, and resolution of technical issues.
Liaise and attend PM’s review meetings as required.
Carry out design verification checks.
Adhere to and promote business improvements as released.
Promote Business growth and integrity of position, fellow staff and future staff members.
Mentoring Trainee design engineers and be responsible for effective delegation of work load.
Assist with coaching and development of trainee engineers including managing performance, reviewing their development and progress.G*eneral Skills*
Excellent IT skills, with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
Use of CAD based systems (AutoCAD with Hydraulic Calculations, preferably having an understanding of Autosprink, Revit, and Canute FHC).
Proven verbal and written English communication skills
Track record in finding solutions to problems within deadlines
Proven ability to organize self and others
Methodical with attention to detail.
Desirable but not essential – Knowledge of BS8489, BS8458 and BSEN12845.
