How many years have you worked for Compco?
17 and half years
What skills and experience do you bring to your role at Compco?
Having worked for an engineering company previously, welding, fabricating, and maintaining various machinery and conveyors systems. Coupled with being trained in mechanical engineering at college, then spending time being a sprinkler designer where I gained several LPCB qualifications, moving through to project manager, contracts manager, and now construction manager. My experiences give me an appreciation for all areas of the business. This appreciation allows me to understand my staffs concerns, challenges and needs. In addition to this I am an extremely motivated, positive person and support my staff at all times.
What is your greatest achievement at Compco?
Being promoted to a construction manager and developing a successful team of contract managers, project managers, trainees and support staff throughout the years. This has been very rewarding for me.
How have you seen the company develop during your time here?
I have been lucky enough to see the company grow year on year in size. Through increased staff numbers, introduction of regional offices, and increased turnover to in excess of £40m p/a. Through forward planning and structure, growth has occurred year on year even during times of recession. The business now supports over 200 families, and continues to grow. We have developed and very comprehensive training programme to encourage new talent in to the industry, this investment has supported our growth and has proven to be very successful
Where can you see Compco progressing to over the next 5-10 years?
We are already leading the market in new initiatives, and over the next 5 to 10 years will have established a larger market share and all areas of the fire protection industry.
Do you have a life motto?
Work hard. Play hard
