Trainee Site & Project Engineer – Hemel Hempstead

Full Time, Permanent

Due to continued expansion, we are currently looking to employ a motivated, driven and positive individual for the role of ‘Trainee Site and Project Engineer’ for our Hemel Hempstead office and London Project locations.

Brief Description and Responsibility

An apprenticeship to learn how to set up, procure, manage, deliver and commission fire protection installations which will include: –

Working as a member of a Project Team to carrying out and supporting tasks as below: –

Preconstruction project set up
Technical Approvals
Method Statements\Risk Assessments
Site Set-up
Site Management
Progress reporting
QA Management
Testing and Commissioning

Training & Development

SSSTS (Year 1 – 2) \ SMSTS (Year 3 – 4)
MACE – Business School Passport
COMPCO Internal Contracts Training (12 One Day Sessions)
Project Specific Fieldview
Day Release – College (Industry Related)

During your first year of employment, you will spend time working with an existing Project Manager based on a London Project. Here you will learn about our products, the installation of and gain valuable knowledge and experience in the daily requirements and demands of site Management. During this period, you will undertake training to achieve certification in CSCS, SSSTS along with commencing your internal contracts training with Compco Fire which will be further enhanced by the off site (MACE) Business School Passport Modules.


2 A Levels or equivalent
Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and associated formulas, word and Microsoft Project or other programme along with good computer skills
Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
Excellent communication skills are essential
Flexible and able to work in various locations in London and the home counties
Leadership and decision making skills
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Site experience or relevant qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
